15th Century Maximilian Armour

Maximilian Helmet

A fine suit of Maximilian armour. Named after Holy Roman Emperor Maxilmilian I, who ruled from 1505 until his death in 1519. This style, which combines the Italian idea of rounded plates with the German fashion of narrow, parallel fluting was developed to provide maximum protection from attack from all types of weapon, including the musket.
